How to use the Primary Time dongle on the Primary room TV

You do not need a computer on the TV. The classroom page at /present never asks for a password. Leaders sign in on their phone after scanning the QR code.

Plug in and connect Wi-Fi

  1. Plug the dongle into the TV HDMI port. Power it from the TV USB port or the included adapter.
  2. Wait about 30 seconds. The TV should say “Set up this display”.
  3. On your phone, join Wi-Fi PrimaryTime-Setup / password primarysetup.
  4. A setup page should open. If it does not, open http://10.42.0.1 in the phone browser.
  5. Choose the building network: Liahona (meetinghouse Wi-Fi) or Lehi (leader Wi-Fi, no terms page). Enter the building password and tap Connect.
  6. Watch the TV. When you see the Primary Time QR code, leave PrimaryTime-Setup and scan that QR with your phone to control singing time.

If the TV never shows the QR code

The building terms-of-use page is probably blocking the dongle. Ask the Stake Technology Specialist to add the device to NoSplash in Church Network Manager (same process as chapel TVs). The MAC address is on the dongle case.

Then plug it in again and repeat the Wi-Fi steps above.
